How did the CO2 global warming hoax get started?

The answer is that science was hijacked by globalist Marxists hell-bent on framing CO2 emissions as evil as a weapon against the fossil fuel industry that underpins the capitalism they hate so much.

In Apr. 1896 Swedish chemist Svante August Arrhenius (1859-1927) pub. On the Influence of Carbonic Acid in the Air upon the Temperature of the Earth, which first describes the "hothouse effect" of CO2 in raising atmospheric temps via the greenhouse effect, using values for the radiant heat of the full moon at different elevations above the horizon supplied by Samuel Pierpont Langley to compute the heat absorbed by the atmosphere, calculating the effect of a doubling of atmospheric carbon dioxide (CO2) to be an increase in surface temp of 5C-8C, while a halving of it would produce a new ice age, with the conclusion: "If the quantity of carbonic acid increases in geometric progression, the augmentation of the temperature will increase nearly in arithmetic progression"; too bad, he only proves that atmospheric CO2 absorbs and blocks infrared energy before returning it to space, not that it can return any of it to the surface; in 1900 Swedish physicist Knut Johan Angstrom (Ångström) (1857-1910) pub. a refutation of Arrhenius' theory, showing from lab experiments that adding CO2 doesn't have much effect on radiation going through a gas, and that its absorption bands overlaps that of water vapor, which is false?; in 1906 after winning the 1905 Nobel Chem. Prize Arrhenius pub. The Probable Cause of Climate Fluctuations, amending his views, lowering his estimates to 1.6C-3.9C and considering increased CO2 to be beneficial; "Since, now, warm ages have alternated with glacial periods, even after man appeared on the earth, we have to ask ourselves: Is it probable that we shall in the coming geological ages be visited by a new ice period that will drive us from our temperate countries into the hotter climates of Africa? There does not appear to be much ground for such an apprehension. The enormous combustion of coal by our industrial establishments suffices to increase the percentage of carbon dioxide in the air to a perceptible degree." Too bad for modern climate alarmists, in 1906 Arrhenius pub. the bestseller Worlds in the Making: The Evolution of the Universe ("Världarnas utveckling"), which is trans. to German in 1907 as "Das Werden der Welden", and to English in 1908, containing the soundbytes: "Another process which withdraws carbonic acid [carbon dioxide] from the air is the assimilation of plants... [If] the percentage of carbon dioxide be doubled, the absorption by the plants would also be doubled. If, at the same time, the temperature rises by 4C, the vitality will increase in the ratio of 1:1.5, so that the doubling of the carbon dioxide percentage will lead to an increase in the absorption of carbonic acid by the plant approximately in the ratio of 1:3. An increase of the carbon dioxide percentage to double its amount may hence be able to raise the intensity of vegetable life... threefold"; "We often hear lamentations that the coal stored up in the earth is wasted by the present generation without any thought of the future, and we are terrified by the awful destruction of life and property which has followed the volcanic eruptions of our days. We may find a kind of consolation in the consideration that here, as in every other case, there is good mixed with the evil. By the influence of the increasing percentage of carbonic acid in the atmosphere, we may hope to enjoy ages with more equable and better climates, especially as regards the colder regions of the earth, ages when the earth will bring forth much more abundant crops than at present, for the benefit of rapidly propagating mankind"; he becomes the first to suggest that oil and coal reserves are finite and must be regulated; this book makes him the "Father of Global Warming" and "Father of the Energy Crisis"?; Arrhenius is largely ignored until the 1979 Charney Report?; too bad, Arrhenius didn't realize that he used measurements by Langley that weren't of CO2 but water vapor?

In 1900 English physicist John William Strutt, 3rd Baron Rayleigh (1842-1919) pub. the Rayleigh-Jeans Law (improved by Sir James Jeans in 1905), claiming that the spectral radiance (emission at a single frequency) of a "black body" (perfect absorber of radiation, radiating an amount equal to that which it is absorbing) is proportional to the frequency to the fourth power, which heads toward infinity as the frequency approaches infinity, causing the Ultraviolet Catastrophe, the prediction that a black body emits radiation with infinite power; on Oct. 19 after ruminating not on that but on why Wien's 1896 Displacement Law breaks down at low frequencies, German physicist Max Planck (1858-1947) announces to the Berlin Physical Society his revolutionary Planck's Radiation Law, proposing the (Old) Quantum Theory to account for the radiation from a black body, explaining that it is emitted in discrete quanta, each being of an energy value equal to Planck's constant h times the frequency, and violating the ancient maxim "Natura non facit saltum" (Nature doesn't make jumps); as he can't explain the meaning of his new constant, he delves into atomic theory to try and find a clue; meanwhile herr Wilhelm Wien proposes the formula E = (3/4) * M * C^2 for the relation between electromagnetic mass and electromagnetic energy - don't complain about the wienie in your neighbor's eye when you have a planck in your own?

The quantum theory and the Planck Radiation Law changed the balance of power forever on the CO2 global warming theory, ruling it out because CO2's absorption/radiation wavelength is 15 microns, which corresponds to a Planck radiation temperature of -80C, about the same temperature as dry ice, making atmospheric incapable of causing global warming, because low temperature photons can't raise the temperature of a hotter body such as the Earth's surface, as I cover in detail in my lesson: The Big Lie About CO2.

In Mar. 1958 Am. chemist Charles David Keeling (1928-2005) begins measuring atmospheric CO2 on Mauna Loa, Hawaii for the Internat. Geophysical Year, obtaining an initial reading of 314 ppm, which grows to 387 ppm in 50 years, becoming known as the Keeling Curve; they never mention that Hawaii has active volcanoes?; it's a fraud because it ignores high 19th cent. values?

Enter the globalist Marxists allied with the leftist environmentalists. Their thinking went like this:

1. Pre-industrial (1939) atmospheric CO2 levels were supposedly 280 ppm.

2. The levels keep increasing at 2 ppm, so that the level will double to 560 ppm in 140 years.

3. If global avg. surface temps increase by up to 4C for each doubling of atmospheric CO2 concentration, then in 70 years (year 2009) there must already be noticeable effects. The IPCC can then set an arbitrary GAT limit and claim it as a point of no return to speed up the political program, which will be global and orchestrated by their octopus of kept scientists, academics, journalists, and politicians; they settled on 2C.

4. A U.N. org. needs to be created to take charge of this matter, latching on to the concept of "global average surface temperature" (GAT) and becoming the only source of information on it, allowing it to be used as a political weapon against the fossil fuel industry by making it look like it forever keeps increasing. What is the temperature of China right now? Zonk! Climate is local only, and GAT is a hoax, the Big Lie theory in action. In 1988 after their useful idiots Al Gore et al. staged a dog-and-pony show to lie to Congress that they have already detected the first s igns of global warming and that climate Armageddon will arrive before 2010, they backed the U.N. financially in creating the politician-run Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), with RINO Pres. George W. Bush actually wanting politicians rather than scientists to run it to keep the scientists honest, which played right into the leftists' hands.

5. By faking a part of the 4C GAT increase now, and letting their climate alarmist agitprop machine loose with scare stories blowing every unusual weather event out of proportion into proof of permanent global climate change, climate Armageddon can be predicted for 2100, and the world can be scared into dismantling its fossil fuel industry way before that. If the predicted global warming doesn't happen, they can claim they saved the world. Meanwhile the problem with physics can be fudged because the public is composed mostly of science ignoramuses, and the few professionals they hire will be cherry-picked to believe in the global warming hoax without need for proof, educated in their kept schools, then kept busy with dogwork collecting and fabricating the GAT, with fear of losing their careers for rocking the boat keeping them silent, while the mass of other scientists can be easily fooled with mathematical moose hockey of Byzantine complexity that they won't admit they can't understand.

Fake a rising GAT indeed. To this date the NASA Goddard Web site claims that the GAT "has increased by a little more than 1° Celsius (2° Fahrenheit) since 1880", adding: "Two-thirds of the warming has occurred since 1975, at a rate of roughly 0.15-0.20°C per decade" - yes, since they got total control of the GAT determination system that does it all in their computers. The big laugh here is that thermometers aren't that accurate, usually only 1F-2F max, hence an average calculated from thousands of those readings can't have decimal point accuracy - unless they're pushing a political agenda. So, despite atmospheric CO2 being unable to melt an ice cube, look how far the IPCC has come with its CO2 global warming hoax. As of 2020 it's winning walking away, with virtually every govt. except the U.S. working to implement its objectives, and even in the U.S., only Pres. Trump is standing in the way while the Deep State undermines him at every turn, with renegade leftist state govts. like Calif., N.Y., and Colo. implementing the New Green Deal piecemeal while just waiting for the day he's no longer in office so they can have their new leftist president issue an executive order for immediate nationwide action that will do more damage than CO2 could ever do - damage to capitalism and individual freedoms. Meanwhile a handful of independent scientists not on their dole, including an aging group of retired scientists try in vain to warm, er, warn the public of the hoax, only to be relegated to the shadows while the IPCC octopus enjoys the big stage and the limelight.
